16 units of API 75 Plan for Petrochemical Plant

G.T.RIVI did design, manufactured and supplied 16 units of API Plans 75 for an important spanish refinery in 2009. It was the first introduction in the Mechanical Seals market.

Documentation, Certifications and Engineering were also made by our personel with a high evaluation from client.

In API plan 75 & 76 arrangements, vapour leakage from the inboard seal of a dual containment seal, either contacting or non-contacting design, is directed to a vapour recovery system via a vent connection.

ESENTIALS OF LUBRICATION SYSTEMS IN API 610

As part of our last trainings to pumps expertise people (customers and friends), the following images have been included in our last catalogue, where explains the requesitions of API about lubrication systems.

Probably can help to someone when decide what type of LOS can required to manufacturers like G.T.RIVI.

LUBE OIL SYSTEMS -CUSTOM DESIGN- FOR 2 BOILER FEED WATER PUMPS IN NAVOI PLANT (UZBEKISTAN)

G.T.RIVI was contracted by an important japanese pump constructor for manufacturing the lube oil systems of two boiler feed water pumps and motors. The final destination is Navoi Power Station in Uzbekistan. The lubrication system have been supplied on December 2010.

Spain’s Initec was the awarder of tender of the Uzbekenergo state joint-stock company to modernize Navoi thermoelectric power station with the cost of 450 million euros.

In line with the competition terms, Initec will construct combined-cycle plant at the Navoi station with the capacity of 477 megawatt. The project was started in the fourth quarter of 2009.
The project will be financed due to the resources of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan and own resources of Uzbekenergo, gazeta.uz reported.
Modernization of Navoi thermoelectric power station will provide electricity to Navoi free industrial and economic zone.
Navoi thermoelectric power station was built in 1963 for energy supply of Kyzylkum region. It is one of the largest power stations in Central Asia. Its capacity is equal to 1,250 megawatt.
Uzbekistan power system has 42 power stations, including 11 thermoelectric power stations with the total capacity of 9,870 megawatt and 31 hydro power stations with the capacity of 1,700 megawatt.

The country produces 48 million K.W.H. of electricity a year. About 77% of total electricity produced at the thermoelectric power stations.

The lube oil systems for pumps what provides water to boilers have been designed in accordance with customer preferences. The system is drop in type, that means is included on pump skid. The main characterstics are:
- Flow rate of oil pumps : 90 lpm
- Outlet pressure : 1.5 barg
- Temperature of oil supplied : 45ºC
- Heat Exchanger is CuNi 90/10 tubes (water-oil tube&sheet type), inlet temperature of water 31.5ºC
- Main oil pump is shaft-driven, auxiliary pump is motor driven (3 kW)
- Level transmitter for oil level control into the tank
- Filtration degree is 100 microns
- A differential pressure transmitter monitors the clogging level in the filter
- Temperature control by indicators and thermostats are capilar type.
- Pressure switches (Cella PCM2 type) control the outlet pressure in the header
- Quality of materials in Carbon Steel (tank, oil piping) and SS316 for instrumentation tubing
- A panel gauge is installed in the operator side for an easily visualitation of all parameters of lube oil system

In G.T.RIVI we are glad and proud to share our experience and quality for Japanese market, in a very competitive sector.

DESIGNING LUBE OIL SYSTEMS IN ACCORDANCE WITH API 614 CHAPTER 3

LUBE OIL SYSTEMS FOR UREA & AMONIA PLANT, TURKMENISTAN

Lube Oil System manufactured & designed in accordance with API 614 4th Edition, Chapter 3 General Purposed for Lean Amine Pumps to be placed in Kawasaki Plant, Turkmenistan. Oil Flow required is 31 lpm. Cooling media is water @32ºC, so a TEMA C cooler is installed. Instrumentation is the typical in API 614 system, but binary instruments instead of smart transmitters.
Is shown the upper connection on top of oil reservoir, for relief and safety vales. Inside the tanks every return line is lined to the bottom of tank, bellow the sunction line.

During the design of the lube oil system, differents level heights were considered depending of the customer requirements. The use of 3D tools in the layout of the LOS is very useful for our customers because allows a quick checking of all the dimensions, and decisions and approvals can be prepared in minutes.

Qatar Petroleum, Shell to develop petchem project in Qatar

HOUSTON, Dec. 21 -- Qatar Petroleum and Shell have signed a memorandum of understanding to study development of a large petrochemicals complex in Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar.

The agreement was signed Dec. 21 in Doha by Abdulla bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, deputy prime minister and minister of energy and industry for Qatar, and Shell CEO Peter Voser.

Under consideration is a monoethylene glycol plant of up to 1.5 million tonnes/year using Shell’s proprietary OMEGA (Only MEG Advantaged) technology and other olefin derivatives to yield more than 2 million tpy of finished products.

In Qatar, Qatar Petroleum and Shell are jointly building the Pearl gas-to-liquids project and Qatargas LNG Train 4 in Ras Laffan.
