VISCOSITY MEASUREMENT FOR LUBE OIL APPLICATIONS


The 7829 Visconic Viscosity Transmitter is used for the measurement and control of on-line process viscosity applications. It simultaneously measures real-time viscosity, density and temperature and can be configured to output either dynamic or kinematic viscosity. 7829 Visconic Viscosity Meters build upon the proven performance of the 7827 Digital Viscosity meters and their essential accuracy and speed of response. 7829 Visconic Viscosity Transmitters are stand-alone instruments with two integral 4-20mA outputs and a Modbus RS485 communications port as standard.
In similar fashion to the 7827 Digital Viscosity meters, the 7829 Visconic Viscosity Transmitters are vibrating element meters that have many advantages over capillary, orifice and rotational viscometer types.

LUBE OIL SYSTEM FOR STEAM TURBINE - CT CC PILAR (ARGENTINA)


RIVI is currently working in an important project for the Combined Cicle Plant of Gobernador Zanichelli - Pilar (Cordoba, Argentina). The lubrication system supply up to 1.600 lts/min of lube oil ISO VG 32 to the steam turbine bearings. Following you can see some of the main characteristics:


- Tank of oil, total volumen 12.000 lts, made of Carbon Steel. Special design for the walls, and internal provisions to avoid foaming, and to provide a correct recirculation of oil before sunction.
- Twin Coalescence Vapour Extractors to mantain free of oil mist.
- Double Heat Exchanger, ASME VIII construction, TEMA C, Carbon Steel body and AISI 304 tubes.
- KSB Centrifugal pumps.
- Main & Auxiliary pump driven by AC Motor, 37 kW.
- Emergency pump driven by DC Motor, 18 kW.
- Accumulator with 200 lts volumen
- Panel for instrumentation, pressure switches, diferential pressure switches.
- Connections shall be ANSI type, NPT for threated
- Lube oil Pressure to supply : 1.8 barg.

API 611 LUBE OIL SYSTEM FOR SINOPEC ETHYLEN



2 units of LUBE OIL SYSTEM have been designed for application to: Feed Water Pump & Steam turbines.
The systems are as follow:
- Heat Exchanger, oil-water, ASME VIII Div. 1, TEMA C construction, AEW Type. Admiralty brass tubes.
- Duplex Filter, ASME VIII Div. 1, 20 microns.
- ANSI 150, ASME B16.5 flanged connections.
- ATEX certified components as motors (Eex e), transmitters (Eex d), junction box (Eex e), glands, conduit & cables (Eex d).
- API 526 safety valves.
- Panel for instruments made of AISI 316.
- Weld-Pad level, AISI 316 with volumes indication.
- AISI 316 reservoir and piping, SW.
- AISI 316 tubing for instrumentation. Root valves for pressure instruments with manifolds (block & bleed valves).

RIVI is finishing to build up API 614 for Sinopec Plant

Do you remember our article from 20 of November ? It was the first design of the lube oil unit to lubricate bearings of motor-pump skid, in the project of Sinopec.

Now you can see the previous image during the testings. It will be delivered the next week.


  • Flow rate: 50 lts/min
  • Power dissipated: 9 Kw
  • Electrical and electronic devices: accomplish with Zone 2
  • Heating system: Steam
  • Working pressure: 1.5 kg/cm2
  • Working temperature: 45ºC
  • Main pump & Auxiliary pump are driven by electrical motors (Eex e)
  • Piping & tubing ASTM - AISI 316
  • ASME IX Welding procedure
  • ASME VIII, Div. 1 for duplex filter and water-oil cooler
