RIVI LOS for Power Market : Mitsubishi - 478 MW CCGT order for Uzbek plant (MHI)

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) received an order from INITEC Energia, a Spanish engineering and construction company, for a 478 MW combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) cogeneration facility in Uzbekistan.



The facility will be built at the SJSC Uzbekenergo’s Navoi power plant, the authority under which the country’s power industry operates. Delivery of the system is scheduled to begin in December 2010 and be completed in March 2011.

The power plant will be built in Navoi City, the capital of Navoi Province, which is in southwestern Uzbekistan and is one of the country’s largest industrial centres.

The economy of the Navoi region is currently enjoying a boom fueled by the production of natural resources, such as oil, natural gas and precious metals, as well as chemical fertilizer and other material manufacturing.


The plant will consist primarily of one M701F gas turbine, one steam turbine, one heat recovery steam generator and two generators. MHI will provide the gas and steam turbines plus the generators

G.T. RIVI will supply two Lube Oil Systems (drop in type) for Boiler Feed Water Pumps, before the end of 2010.

Standard Lube Oil Systems

Designing on 3D tools, like Autodesk Inventor, we can share the information very quickly with our customers, giving an important support and assistance almost "on line", to change the quotes or dimensions non conforming with the General Arrangement of the Pumps, turbines or compressors baseplates. In a few minutes the engineering staff of RIVI are able to change it, and resend with the new configurations, ready to set up in the final design !

API 614 Lube Oil System, General Purpose. Drop In mounted on Pump Skid

New contract in RIVI. Nine Lube Oil Systems will be supplied soon for an important Oil&Gas Pumps manufacturer. The systems will be in accordance with API 614, Chapter 3, and the systems have been designed to install drop in the Pump Skid. Final destination is Western Australia, and all pressure vessels (cooler, filter) will be with AS1210 certificates.



The oil pumps are according to API 676, manufacture by Allweiler. Instrumentation, electric motors and electrical heater will be ATEX certified for Zone 2, IIB T3.

LUBE OIL SYSTEM FOR STEAM TURBINE - CT CC PILAR (ARGENTINA)

RIVI is currently working in an important project for the Combined Cicle Plant of Gobernador Zanichelli - Pilar (Cordoba, Argentina). The lubrication system supply up to 1.600 lts/min of lube oil ISO VG 32 to the steam turbine bearings. Following you can see some of the main characteristics:

- Tank of oil, total volumen 12.000 lts, made of Carbon Steel. Special design for the walls, and internal provisions to avoid foaming, and to provide a correct recirculation of oil before sunction.

- Twin Coalescence Vapour Extractors to mantain free of oil mist.

- Double Heat Exchanger, ASME VIII construction, TEMA C, Carbon Steel body and AISI 304 tubes.

- KSB Centrifugal pumps.

- Main & Auxiliary pump driven by AC Motor, 37 kW.

- Emergency pump driven by DC Motor, 18 kW.

- Accumulator with 200 lts volumen

- Panel for instrumentation, pressure switches, diferential pressure switches.

- Connections shall be ANSI type, NPT for threated

- Lube oil Pressure to supply : 1.8 barg.

API 611 LUBE OIL SYSTEM FOR SINOPEC ETHYLEN

2 units of LUBE OIL SYSTEM have been designed for application to: Feed Water Pump & Steam turbines.

The systems are as follow:

- Heat Exchanger, oil-water, ASME VIII Div. 1, TEMA C construction, AEW Type. Admiralty brass tubes.

- Duplex Filter, ASME VIII Div. 1, 20 microns.

- ANSI 150, ASME B16.5 flanged connections.

- ATEX certified components as motors (Eex e), transmitters (Eex d), junction box (Eex e), glands, conduit & cables (Eex d).

- API 526 safety valves.

- Panel for instruments made of AISI 316.

- Weld-Pad level, AISI 316 with volumes indication.

- AISI 316 reservoir and piping, SW.

Do you remember our article from 20 of November ? It was the first design of the lube oil unit to lubricate bearings of motor-pump skid, in the project of Sinopec.

LUBE OIL SYSTEMS SKID PUMP MOUNTED

RIVI develops also the lube oil systems mounted in pump skids. As it shows in the picture, you can see a lube oil unit completly assembled in the base-plate.

6 off LUBE OIL SYSTEMS FOR POWER PLANT

A new delivery of LOS for an important Pumps manufacturer have been supplied by RIVI.
In this case, the final destination for these lube oil systems is a Power Plant in Kuwait, Az Zour, which is contracted by Siemens Power Generation.
The application of the oil systems, constructed in accordance with ANSI, API, etc is the lubrication of bearings of Boiler Feed Water Pumps and Motor.
Each system supply 40 lts/min of ISO VG 32 oil. A tank made of carbon steel and rest of lubrication components mounted on top, to cool and filter (25 microns) the oil, and control the pressure and temperature.
Four pressure switches are installed to alarm for Low pressure, trip the auxiliary pump, High pressure, and Low Low pressure.
An ultrasonic (vibration) sensor is installed to control minimum level of oil in the tank.
A differential pressure switch controls the filter element saturation.

RIVI DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE LUBE OIL SYSTEMS FOR API 611 STEAM TURBINES, FOR PETRO-CHEMICAL PLANT IN CHINA

A new lube oil system have been designed in the technical department of RIVI, for Sinopec Project, sited in China. In this case, the lube oil units are going to be manufactured to lubricated the bearings of Main Boiler Feed Water Pumps, driven by Steam Turbines, according to API 611.
Then, the design of LOS have been in compliance with the API 611, chapter referred about lubrication. Powder of BFW is 1.500 Kw.

Flow needed for the bearings of the pump, gear box and steam turbine is 95 lts/min. Power dissipated 37 kw.

As you can see in the pictures, our technical department develops the complete performance with 3D tools.

Lube Oil System will be manufactured on Stainless Steel. Piping quality Sch 40. For the rest of the components, you can check the data-sheets as follow:

- Weld-pad level indicator

- Level Switch, acc. ATEX EEx d IIC T6

- Temperature Indicator

- Temperature Switch for Electrical Heater (W3 type)
